"Hairitage" - By the Ivorian artist Malick Kebe

Photographer insight :

This piece is called "Hairitage ". Here, I really wanted to focus and above all to highlight the hairstyle of the african women of the 60s. Hair played a significant role in the culture of ancient African civilizations; It symbolized one’s family background, social status, spirituality, tribe, marital status and more. History will remember that the hairstyles of the 60s conveyed messages such as: Nurturer, wife, young, old, protector, fighter, worker, royalty, strength and Grace.

His definition of a black woman : The mother of humanity
